Kareena:Saif is down with 102-degree fever

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan who were busy promoting their upcoming flick Kurbaan has cancelled all their appointment, ‘coz Saif Ali Khan has fallen due to stomach infection.

Kareena says, “Poor Saif. He’s been down with a 102-degree temperature. The promotional stuff for Kurbaan has been delayed by a couple of days as he now needs to rest. Initially, we thought it could be malaria or typhoid but the tests revealed a mild stomach problem.

He loves eating outside food and has been gorging on oysters and lobsters abroad a bit much, I guess. I was worried as I couldn’t spend all day with him. I have been promoting Kurbaan and 3 Idiots and working 16 hours a day.”

Saif says,”People think it’s serious every time I fall unwell but I just had a bad bout of stomach infection this time. I am better now. I had a blood test done but it’s not malaria. I won’t have to go to hospital this time. I am resting for a couple of days.”

Hello! Saif

Saif Ali Khan features on the front cover of Hello! magazine’s latest issue along with a horse. In the issue,
Saif’s mother Sharmila pens a letter to him. Like it?

Kareena Kapoor refuses to kiss

Kareena Kapoor is steering clear of talking about her lip-locks and intimate scenes in Kurbaan. Not that we blame her for it. Bebo had almost a dozen liplock scenes in Kambakkth Ishq. While the film did average business, Kareena's swimsuits and kisses were a huge hit. After seeing the publicity her scenes in Kurbaan have generated, the actress is a little worried.

She doesn't want it to be another Kambakkth Ishq. So these days, when people ask her about the 'scenes', Kareena evades the question or simply smiles. The questions are then naturally diverted to Saif Ali Khan. "Most girls ask me about Kareena. They are least interested in me. They want to know about her diet, workout etc. I tell them even I do yoga and follow a diet, but they aren't convinced. But that's ok. I don't get tired of answering their questions, because it's their way of showing love."

Talking about love, we have heard there are many kisses in Kurbaan, one quite lengthy. " I have not actually timed the other kisses, so I don't know," says Saif. Like Kareena, he's also afraid the kisses will steal the limelight. "Kurbaan is a great movie. It is a very real film and so the romance is also very non- filmy. When a couple is together, they kiss. When you watch the film, you will know that the kiss is just a very small part of it," he asserts.

We'll wait for the movie to comment on that. Kurbaan is Kareena's first film opposite Saif since they started dating and people are naturally eager to see their onscreen chemistry. Meanwhile, Saif will soon get six- pack abs for his role in Agent Vinod. He reportedly has many shirtless scenes in the movie. Maybe girls will now start showing more interest in Saif.

Saif, Deepika and The Hidden Cameras

The entire unit of Love Aaj Kal took a collective risk when they failed to get the permission to shoot a few important sequences of the film at London’s Leadenhall Market. Since the scenes were integral to the plot, director Imtiaz Ali and producer-actor Saif Ali Khan decided to take the risk and shoot them covertly at the same market.

So how did they do it?

The cameras were placed inside vans that were parked in the market. The film’s crew and cast that also comprises Deepika Padukone sauntered casually to the shooting spot. But since they could not keep secret the fact that they were shooting, the unit pretended that they had the requisite permission.

Funnily, the cops on duty bought it. They not just let the cast and crew shoot but even helped in the shooting. When a woman with a horse passed by and Imtiaz failed to catch her on camera, the co-operative cops called the woman back and let her walk again with the horse so that Imtiaz could shoot her.

Luckily, no one caught the film unit’s bluff.

Now, you can catch these scenes when the film releases on July 31.

Perhaps Imtiaz should send free tickets to those cops.

Playing a Sikh wasn't easy: Saif

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who is playing a Sikh in some parts of his debut production Love Aaj Kal, says essaying the character meant a lot of responsibility for him.

http://movies.ndtv.com/images/showbiz/saif-sikh.jpg

"You have to work with great responsibility while playing certain characters so that you don't end up hurting others' sentiments. I have played the role of a Sikh gentleman in this film with sensitivity. A lot of work went behind it in order to make the character authentic," Saif told reporters.

"We took care of the costumes, the look, mannerisms, dialect and a lot of other things like I was told not to smoke while wearing the turban while we were shooting for the film in Patiala," he added.

Love Aaj Kal, directed by Imtiaz Ali of Jab We Met fame, also stars Deepika Padukone and is set to release July 31.

Saif too busy to start his own personal blog

Saif Ali Khan has always kept a low profile. That's precisely the reason why the actor won't start his own personal blog even as other actors and directors have already jumped on to the blog-wagon.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7h7J8pyXI6BNxHNPVGG6zcXVC7s8l4UKU9VRh3nRG6H2nmAcgxg9Igybw44ixV6c0ruQZT6fui-qebrS9pHhER3iNIHgg6PbIzLjFHW8cTtf7n4WEsnjwy60c4H4gvqE87GAGLz4ShApX/s320/saif1.jpg

A source reveals, "Saif wants his blog to be a platform for him to interact with the media and not be misquoted and give the media access to him in a way that ensures that it acts responsibly when reporting about him. But the actor is in a dilemma whether he will be able to give the required time for regular blogging."

The source continues, "Saif's wants his blog to be a window to his work. He does not want to bug his fans with a daily information overload about his life. Saif would want to keep it short and simple to engage fans' interests in his films, his growing home production etc."

Saif says, "I thought I'd blog but I changed my mind. I am still thinking about a website because I would like to connect more with fans. But a blog means doing it all the time and I don't want to be that accessible."

Will he start blogging sometime around the release of Love Aaj Aur Kal? Says Khan, "There will be a Love Aaj Kal website in any case but I am still thinking if I want a personal one or not."

Would he blog to give clarifications? Says Saif, "That would probably be the only reason I'd do it."

After starting out with a bang, Karan Johars's posts kept trickling down till there were none. The director stopped blogging after November 2008. Will the release of My Name Is Khan this year-end see him return to blogging with a vengeance? Let's see!

Saif Ali Khan hurts Deepika Padukone

Saif Ali Khan not only wanted his love Kareena Kapoor in his life but the actor also wished to cast her in his debut production. The very thought of Saif has hurt Deepika. Saif wanted Kareena to cast in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Love Aaj Kal’ but on Imtiaz’s insistence, he signed Deepika Padukone.

Though hurt by Saif’s acceptance of not wanting her in his film, Deepika has shown great maturity in her reaction. She is reluctant to comment on Saif’s verdict as he is her producer and co-star. She instead spoke in favor of the actor and praised him as a co-star.

Deepika Padukone is rather happy that director Imtiaz Ali chose her over Kareena despite Saif’s insistence to cast Kareena. Deepika concluded that she fits the role so well as if the story has been written keeping her in mind.

Saif doing uncomfortable 'Hot Scene' with Kareena

We would have thought it would be easy for Saif Ali Khan to do a sizzling bedroom scene with his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. So we were rather surprised to hear that Saif thinks otherwise and is in a dilemma about how far to go while filming an intimate scene, given the comfort level the two share. Saif did try his hand at working up a sizzling chemistry with Kareena in Tashan.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-ZjkG35EuVe_ZGVmi2us-64mwqbDhyMzCZ8Ul8NJmUrZlfbLs3NayJd3kz2HgBtZo6a0pX8r5xScNW-JdWY2B21hLCQWfZ3wUo48oEb2tyc0usjsSB0dMtfqfsLCqC7fRKvbpNHnIJ6g/s400/saif_ali_khan_kareena_311.jpg

But now, while shooting for Rensil D’Silva’s untitled next, Saif says he was constantly conscious of the fact that it was his girlfriend that he was making love to, on screen. “It was obviously easier to do the intimate scenes with Kareena as my co-star and it would be the easiest thing for me to say otherwise, but I’ll admit, having Kareena as my co-star on the sets actually made me feel more responsible, and so more conscious. I did not want to show off our relationship by accentuating the intimacy aspect. It was quite a double-edged sword there! Of, course, at the end of the day we’re all actors, but this was certainly different,” Saif explains.

About the film, Saif says “It’s a love story with a passionate and relevantly disturbing theme. And I have kissing scenes with Kareena because Rensil is making a real contemporary film here. We just can’t have two flowers touching each other to show intimacy. At the same, we have taken care that there isn’t anything that will make us squirm while watching the film with our parents. We’ve done the scenes tastefully and within the limits of decorum.”

Having completed the film, Saif and Kareena are now ready to fly of to holiday to mysterious destination. Revealing their holiday plans, Saif says, “We’re holidaying it Italy. And though one likes to be private about holidaying, I’m hardly a Johnny Depp to have fans stalking me! In fact, an Indian fan who follows us to Italy should be applauded for his resilience.”

Saif Ali Khan turns love guru

Saif Ali Khan has a new profession these days. No, he hasn’t given up acting but is also playing love guru on the sets of Imtiaz Ali’s, Love Aaj Kal. Recently, Saif gave the film’s still photographer some important love tips when he wanted to woo a girl.

http://bollywoodjunction.co.in/bollywood-news-events/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/saif.jpg

A source said, “While shooting in New Delhi, the still photographer got some much-needed love tips from Saif. The photographer was in love with a girl and wanted to ask her out. However, he didn’t know how to take things forward and express his feelings to her. That’s when Saif helped him out.”

“Saif, who plays Jai in the film, taught him a few flashy lines from a particular scene, which he was enacting that day with Deepika Padukone, who plays Meera. In the scene, Jai tells Meera, ‘Yeh waise wali feeling hai’. To which Meera asks, ‘Kaise wali?’ Jai replies, ‘Waise wali. Meerawali’,” said the source.

And before anybody knew it, Saif taught these lines to the lovesick still photographer.

“When the photographer and his girl were in an auto rickshaw, he used the same lines only replacing Meera’s name in the dialogue with the girl’s. It worked wonders. The girl was quite amused and agreed to go on a date with the photographer. Their relationship has deepened and they are a couple even today,” added the source.

Dinesh Vijan, co-producer of Illuminati Productions, said, “Yes, I do know the unit member who used this line from the film to woo his ladylove. Since I believe it worked, I don’t want to ruin it for him by naming him. Why spoil the fun?”

Vivek gives Saif-Kareena an Unexpected Holiday

Vivek Oberoi is suddenly back in business, and how! Whether it's for a film that he is doing with Ram Gopal Varma or for a film that he isn't doing with Satish Kaushik (featuring Abhishek Bachchan), Oberoi seems to be in the news constantly.

http://www.zetacorner.com/news/news-images/1210765378vivek11P.jpg

Currently, in New York shooting for Rensil D'Silva's untitled film (not called Jihaad), Vivek has endeared himself to the film's other principal leads Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, and not just because they share camera space so comfortably, but because he was indirectly instrumental in getting them an impromptu holiday in New York, ahead of the holiday that they have planned after the schedule in New York.

It so happened that Vivek had plenty of solo scenes which apparently he suggested to the director the scenes be shot all in a bunch so that Saif and Kareena could take time off. Resultantly, Saif and Kareena ended up with two full empty days in New York.

Laughs Kareena from New York, "Yeah, Saif and I got a two-day break in the middle of our hectic schedule because Vivek's scenes are being shot. Saif and I just chilled out, saw some films, and ate at our favourite restaurant. It was an unexpected treat thanks to Vivek."

Kareena seems to be renewing her friendship with Vivek. "If you remember we did one of my best films Yuva together. He was very sweet and considerate then. I find no change in him, yes, Vivek and I friends."

It looks like Vivek's fence-mending tactics are paying dividends.

First look at Love Aaj Kal Movie

Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan’s production house Illuminati Films is set to release its maiden venture “Love Aaj Kal” (pictured above), in association with Eros International.

“Love Aaj Kal” is director Imtiaz Ali’s much awaited release after his hugely successful “Jab We Met”. It has been shot in London, San Francisco and New Delhi.

The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukoue, Rishi Kapoor and Rahul Khanna.
The film also features British model and actress Florence Brudenell-Bruce who makes her debut opposite Saif. Neetu Singh too has a small role.

Saif and Deepika are paired together for the very first time.

Says a source, “Saif and Deepika are looking fabulous together… the chemistry they share is unbelievable.”

Though producers have tired their best to keep the film under wraps, the movie has already generated a strong buzz.

“Love Aaj Kal” has a fresh take on relationships that will appeal to everyone. It is a love story spanning two generations; Rishi and Neetu play the older couple with Saif and Deepika represent the new generation.

Deepika says her character in the film comes eerily close to her real self.

“It's scary the kind of stuff Imtiaz has envisaged for my character in the film it's so close and similar to me. It's almost as if he had written the film with me in mind."

Saif whisks Kareena off for a Special Holiday

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, are presently in New york, shooting for Rensil D' Silva's film. They will finish the schedule in the next few days and the Chote Nawab plans to whisk away his beloved for a 10-day luxurious holiday in Italy's exclusive resort the 16th century Villa D'Este, on the shores of Lake Como in Cernobbio.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc2AqT8Wh_QJdv-Q1CXFgfD6jr19QDo7-9tAT4sZaecmNPzP1P1slg9W9-KYgF9MHDui7pUhLgdtDS1NYISEAzaSn4N0oVpbshC_GECqUG86HXb00URZ7P6rY-DxmyWVLx6qJG-egc3qGc/s400/saifkareena.jpg

The villa has housed celebrities like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Greta Garbo, Gregory Peck, Clark Gable, Eddie Murphy, Liza Minelli, Sylvester Stallone and Bing Crosby amongst others. Alfred Hitchcock shot his first movie The Pleasure Garden here.

Says a source close to the couple, "Kareena has not been keeping well so Saif decided it was time for her to take a break. He called their business manager Zahid and cancelled all her work commitments for the next two weeks. Except for a brief Swiss holiday in Christmas, the actress has been busy with her films, shows and endorsements for a major part of the year. Kareena has also some big releases coming this year including Karan Johar's home productions directed by Rensil D'Silva and the one with Kajol and Raj Kumar Hirani's 3 Idiots."

The source adds that Saif is making all the travel arrangements. It will be their first time in Florence. He zeroed in on Florence as he loves it's old world charm and magnificent architecture of its chapels and churches. Seeing Michelangelo's paintings in Florence is also a part of the itenary.

The Prince of Pataudi is quite excited about their stay at the Villa d'Este. The source adds, "Although it is super-expensive, that was not an issue. Saif feels it's a well-deserved break and wants to make the trip special. Last time, he had booked an entire chalet in the Swiss Alps. Saif has made Bebo understand the importance of balancing her private and professional life. She won't be taking any phone calls during the holiday. It's all about fun."

Kareena says, "Yes, it's true Saif and I are shortly leaving for our Italian holiday soon but it's private and I wouldn't like to divulge the details of our stay."

Saif's production house to specially pen roles for Kareena

Kareena Kapoor has always been selective in her choice of roles; now, she's also paying attention to the depth of her roles.

Substantial, please!

http://mid-day.com/imagedata/2009/mar/kareena123.jpg

It is believed that when Sohail Khan approached her for his home production, starring himself and brother Salman, Bebo asked him to have her role rewritten to make it more substantial Sohail did so.

The actress says, "Main Aur Mrs Khanna is a girl's story and Sohail and Salman have great roles."

Would she consider having a role written especially for her? She says, "Saif has a production house and he asks me what roles I want to do and that he will have them written for me. I am very lucky. One film I am dying to do is Mamma Mia! it's brilliant.

I love Meryl Streep and only watch her films! I would love to do a Mother India too, but who can write such good scripts today?"

A point to prove

Bebo continues, "I have always been clear about what roles I want to do. If someone says I can't do a role, I instantly take it up as a point to prove be it a 22-year-old sex worker in Chameli or playing Dolly Mishra in a male-dominated Omkara.

I've done it without any sugar daddy to thank. It is sheer hard work and dedication and the faith of my wonderful directors Sudhir Mishra, Imtiaz Ali, Vishal Bhardwaj, Rensil D'Silva, Raju Hirani and Saabir Khan among others."

Do me a favour, don't play Holi

Kareena whose family started the trend of Holi bashes didn't play this year. "I slept and caught up on all that I missed out while attending Amu's wedding last week.

I stopped playing Holi as the colours stay and then it becomes difficult to shoot. I miss my grandfather's parties at RK Studios. He took that with him when he left. Now no Kapoor celebrates the festival in a big way.

I remember as a child full of awe watching the stars who would come to attend grandfather's Holi bash from Dilip uncle to all the actresses of that time."
