Rahul Bose to catch up rugby matches at CWG

Actor Rahul Bose, who was once part of the national rugby team, is looking forward to the Commonwealth Games (CWG) in the capital to catch up rugby matches.

"Off to delhi. Will be in and out of the city over the next fortnight. Want to catch the athletics, rugby etc. Rugby will be sensational. The very best teams in the world are playing - New Zealand, South Africa, England," Rahul posted on his Twitter page. CWG will be held in the capital Oct 3-14.

The 43-year-old was a part of the first Indian national rugby team and played for the country at the Asian Rugby Football Union Championship in 1998.

He also commented on Delhi traffic, saying: "For a Bombayite the like-never-before traffic congested roads of Delhi are wonderfully comforting. Bumper to bumper and we feel at home."

The actor has recently returned from Brazil after being a part of "Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi 3".

Deepika Padukone: He cheated on me!

 

Deepika Padukone has broken her silence on the heartbreak she has faced in the past. In a candid interview to Verve magazine, the actor has confessed that her relationship ended because her boyfriend was 'unfaithful'.

It may be recalled that Deepika recently ended her relationship with actor Ranbir Kapoor amid rumours that Ranbir was seeing co-actor Katrina Kaif. Without naming Ranbir, Deepika, who still sports an RK tattoo at the nape of her neck, says, "For me, sex is not just about physicality; there are emotions involved. I have never cheated or strayed when I'm in a relationship. If I'm going to be fooling around, why would I be in a relationship? It's better to be single and have fun. But not everyone thinks like that. Maybe that's why I've been hurt in the past. The first time he cheated on me, I thought there was something wrong with the relationship, or me. But when someone makes a habit of it, you know the problem lies with him."

Making the revelation that she caught her cheating 'boyfriend' red-handed, Deepika adds, "Yet, I was foolish enough to give him a second chance because he begged and pleaded, despite the fact that everyone around me said he was still straying. I guess I really wanted to believe in him. Then I actually caught him red-handed. It took me a while to get out. But having done that, nothing can make me go back. That ship has sailed."

The popular actor betrays a hint of cynicism when she adds, "I give a lot in relationships, and don't really expect much in return. I know it is idealistic to expect that you will get as much as you give. It rarely happens, and I'm okay with that. But the man has to at least acknowledge the fact that I'm giving so much, and respect me for it."

The 24-year-old, who is now rumoured to be seeing UB Group's scion, Siddharth Mallya, hasn't given up on love. "I don't believe monogamy is impossible," she says. "And I'm willing to wait for however long it takes to find the right guy with the same values and beliefs. I never start seeing someone unless I think there is a real chance of it working out in the future, and I want a person like that. Someone like me, who is in it for the long haul."

Hrithik Roshan - Latest actor to be immortalized by Madame Tussauds!

 

It's been announced that award winning Bollywood actor, Hrithik Roshan, is going to be the latest star to be immortalised in wax by the world famous tourist attraction Madame Tussauds.

Hrithik has already sat for sculptors in his home town of Mumbai in India and in London.. They took hundreds of photographs and precise measurements for the figure, which will be unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London in January 2011.

The film star is expected to be closely involved in the making of the wax figure, collaborating with the team to agree the pose and donating items of clothing for his figure to be dressed in.

Born and bred in the heart of Bollywood, cinema has always been in Hrithik's blood. His father is the producer and director Rakesh Roshan and he starred in his first film at the age of 6.

Hrithik is following in the footsteps of other Bollywood giants including Amitabh Bachan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan - all of whom feature in the attraction.

Madame Tussauds Studios has been making wax figures for over two hundred years. Each masterpiece takes a team of 20 dedicated sculptors and stylists around 4 months to make at a cost of 150 thousand pounds.

Thank god there's peace: Bollywood celebrities

 

New Delhi, Sep 30 (IANS) Bollywood celebrities have lauded Indians for maintaining peace after the Ayodhya verdict and also hoped that the "shrieking" media does not "overdo their melodramatic analysis" and inflame passions.

Celebrities like Diya Mirza, Priyanka Chopra and Arshad Warsi took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share their views after the Allahabad High Court ruled that the spot in Ayodhya where a makeshift temple was built after razing the Babri mosque in 1992, was indeed where Hindu god Ram was born.

There was heavy security in the nation prior to the verdict, but celebrities were glad that people remained peaceful.

Acclaimed filmmaker Pritish Nandy posted: "No report of any trouble anywhere across India. Proud to be an Indian in moments like this."

"Now that the verdict has been announced, can we please leave Ayodhya behind and move on with our lives? We need to look ahead. If anything the verdict shows that we in India, despite our differences, our politics and our shrieking media, respect the rule of law," he added.

Music composer Vishal Dadlani has appealed to Indian to "be proud, be strong".

"Resist every impulse to divide us. If Ram and Allah made us human, we owe it to them to be humane. Truly proud of my country and my people today. Jai Hind!" he added.

By a majority decision, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court also ruled that the land around the disputed site should be divided into three parts -- one going to Hindus, another to Muslims and the third to Nirmohi Akhara, a Hindu sect and a litigant in the case.

Actor Uday Chopra said: "Some decisions are beyond law. I think the bench has opted for a settlement and gone pro peace...If it helps to maintain it then I'm for it."

Sophie Choudhry prayed that "this ‘division' helps to ‘unite' our nation more than ever!"

National award winning actress Priyanka Chopra, however, said: "It will take a little time to fully decipher the ruling". But she appealed "... keep the peace... it's our nation at stake!"

Meanwhile, other actors said the media must react responsibly and not infuriate people with over-the-top discussions.

"Verdict is out. Views (are) being expressed. No harm with that as long as the media does not meander and people remain peaceful," stated Diya Mirza.

While internationally-acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur said: "Now that the judgement is over, the media should not overdo their melodramatic analysis or else they will inflame people."

According to actor Arshad Warsi, the judgement should be accepted gracefully.

"Let us accept the judgement and ignore the lawyers and their opinion on news channels. Humanity should be our religion," he posted.

I am too old for Bollywood says Gauri Khan

Gauri Khan, wife of superstar Shah Rukh Khan said she is too old to try her luck in Bollywood.

The star-wife, who features in a TV commercial for the first time, as the brand ambassador of a furnishing brand with Shah Rukh, was speaking to the media here today. To a question if she would want to try out acting in a film after working in a television ad, Gauri said, “I am too old to be in films. If I was younger, may be I would have considered.”

Incidentally, she is the producer of SRK‘s movies like Om Shanti Om, Main Hoon Na, Billu and the upcoming Ra.one. When asked if she would have featured in the ad with any other actor, Gauri said she was in the project because of her husband. “It was a home concept and it would be awkward for me to feature in it with any other man,” she said.

 

Shah Rukh, who was present at the press conference was the doting, protective husband as Gauri faced a barrage of questions. On being asked how was the experience of facing the arch lights for the first time, Gauri said she had never worked so much in her life. “I am so tired that I have been sleeping for two days,” she said. The television commercial with Shah Rukh was shot on Sunday.

The superstar who has just returned home after a 70 day hectic schedule of Ra.one in London jokingly asked his wife if she wished to act in a movie. “Please tell me, I will produce it myself,” he said. Later on a serious note, SRK said that in their relationship as husband and wife, both have freedom of choice.

“The decision was entirely hers. That is what trust and love is all about. Gauri did not feature in this ad for money. She has interest in furnishing and the owners of the brand are family friends so she was comfortable. I am very protective about my family and would not let them work in an uncomfortable environment,” he said.

Katrina is already our family member says Sohail

It’s official, Bollywood Actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are dating each other confirms Sallu’s brother, Sohail Khan. “They have been seeing each other for long now and I wish they stay happily together,” said the actor- producer who was in Delhi to promote his upcoming film Kisaan.

When asked when Salman and Katrina plan to tie the knot, Sohail simply said, “Katrina Kaif is already a family member but they are mature individuals to decide when to take the final call.” While Katrina is hoping to fly off to London to be with her family on her birthday, Sohail says the family might plan something special for her. “Lets see it’s a little to early but we will surely throw a party and have a nice family get together.”

 

The Khans and controversies “go hand in hand by the grace of media,” laughs Sohail. He dismisses rumours about Veer being in trouble as “sheer jealousy,”.

Responding to questions about problems between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif he says “gossip never affects their relationship.” About Claudia Ciesla, Sohail says he’s not sure where the rumours about her and Salman Khan started but praised her efforts to get into the industry.

“She is handling her work professionally and is meeting big names in Bollywood. She is pretty looking girl don’t know about her talent yet but I think she should do well as Bollywood is going global,” added Khan.

About Kisaan he said, “It is a sincere effort at addresing serious issues, unlike fun loving films like Singh Is Kinng. We have tried to be as close to reality as we can.”

Shah Rukh copies Salman Khan

 

The audiences were left asking for more when Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan took off his shirt a la Salman Khan while shooting for a special episode of a music reality show.

Shah Rukh, who went to the reality show with filmmaker Karan Johar to promote their forthcoming movie My Name Is Khan, surprised everyone when he climbed up on a table and danced to the tune of Deewangi deewangi from his hit movie Om Shanti Om.

He then took off his shirt and flaunted his abs, said a source from the sets.

On the show all the songs sung by the contestants were from Shah Rukh’s movies and the superstar shook a leg with all of them.

Asin lost a role opposite Ranbir Kapoor

 

 

Poor Asin, the South Indian actress who entered Bollywood Movies with a bang opposite Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan in Ghajini, is now struggling to keep herself afloat here.

Probably her nightmare began with London Dreams opposite Bollywood Actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan which flopped badly at the Bollywood Boxoffice. Recently, Asin was dropped from Vipul Shah’s KhaKha KhaKha opposite Bollywood handsome dude John Abraham because according to the filmmakers, her character was similar to the one she played in Ghajini, but insiders said that it was John who didn’t want to romance her, though the actor denied these statements as a mere Bollywood Gossip. Now the actress reportedly has lost out on Anurag Basu’s film Silence starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra and that too because she’s not tall enough!

The role had initially gone to Bollywood’s Hottest Actress Katrina Kaif, who according to the Bollywood gossip mongers had turned it down because of Priyanka’s powerful presence in the film. This led to Anurag hunting for a new face for which he also held auditions but couldn’t find the face he was looking for. It’s then that the producers asked him to take Asin, but the director refused to do so because he’s looking for a girl who is more than 5.8 feet tall.

He doesn’t think she’ll fit the role,” said a source. “Now egos are bruised. Anurag, who wants to have his way, has gone ahead and is busy directing shows for a Bengali channel because of which Silence has been kept on hold.”

Though everyone’s maintaining ‘silence’, it’s ultimately Asin who’s lost out on the opportunity of working with the current heartthrob Ranbir. Fortunately for her, Salman Khan, who had taken a liking for her during the making of London Dreams is doing Anees Bazmee’s Ready with her.

Salman Khan happy for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Bollywood Actor Salman Khan has been plagued by questions about the status of his relationship with Bollywood Actress Katrina Kaif recently and the Bollywood superstar is perturbed as to why the media is making big news out of the issue.

“There are so many other problems affecting people in the country, why is Salman-Katrina relationship national news? I am not giving any clarifications, the media can write whatever it wants. It is my personal life, if people want to know, they will have to wait and watch,” Salman Khan revealed in an interview with India TV.

The controversy was triggered after Katrina Kaif, who is reportedly in a relationship with the actor for quite sometime, said announced that she was ‘single’.

During the conversation, Bollywood actor Salman Khan also spoke about other controversies in his life, including his brush with the law twice and his relationship with Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai.

The 45-year-old Bollywood actor, who is facing trial for killing black bucks in Rajasthan over a decade ago, said that the case does not stand against him

“There is no case against me. The first post-mortem report of the animals did not show that they were killed by bullets. It is only said in the second report. I have been fighting the case for 11 years and till date have to take Jodhpur Court’s permission before travelling anywhere,” said Salman Khan.
He had another brush with the law in a hit and run case in 2002, when his car crashed near American Express bakery in Bandra, killing one man and injuring others.

Priyanka finds ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ role most difficult

National Award winning actress Priyanka Chopra says her role in Saat Khoon Maaf is the toughest project she has ever taken up.

“I have been so lost … this film … Saat Khoon Maaf is taking the mickey out of me … the most difficult role of my life,” Priyanka Chopra, who won the best actress National award for her powerful performance in Fashion, wrote on her Twitter page.

Saat Khoon Maaf is being directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. In the film, Priyanka has seven husbands – while Naseeruddin Shah plays her oldest spouse, Neil Nitin Mukesh has just been signed to play the youngest.

The actress was previously seen in Bharadwaj’s production venture Kaminey.

Deepika`s bathroom secrets leaked!

Bollywood Actress Deepika Padukone was recently seen turning shades of red, blue, purple and then black during the outdoor schedule of Break Ke Baad in Mauritius.

And what got this beautiful Bangalore girl to lose her cool? The story says that all of filmmaker Danish Aslam’s young assistants were equipped with walkie talkies. And a couple of them were put in charge of star movements. The extra enthusiastic assistants constantly spoke into their gizmos saying, “Deepika stepped out of van”, “Deepika talking on phone” etc. Now one day, Deepika Padukone stepped out of her makeup trailer and before she could enter the set, she excused herself to use the bathroom. And she accidentally overheard the assistant saying “Deepika Padukone using toilet”.

That did it! The actress flipped and she gave the assistant hell for telling the whole unit that she had taken a few minutes off to use the bathroom. Not only did she reason that it was an intrusion on her privacy, she also thought that the assistants were taking their role of monitoring every moment she made a bit too seriously. After that tantrum, the assistants were more careful about what they said into their walkies! And Deepika Padukone had more freedom to talk into her phone or take a leak!

No Bachchan show for IIFA Awards 2010

The Bollywood 2010 IIFA Awards are scheduled to take place between June 3 – 5 in Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo, but it looks like the star power will be significantly reduced at this year’s IIFA Awards ceremony to be held June 3 – June 5 at Sri Lanka’s capital city, Colombo as the royal couple of Bollywood, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wont be attending it. As per the latest buzz in Bollywood Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are so busy working that they won’t be able to attend.

According to Aishwarya’s spokesperson “she is going for a Longines (international watch brand which the actress promotes) commitment to Paris where she will be attending the French open.” And while the former Miss World will be away in Paris, her hubby will be in Istanbul shooting his new movie “Game.”

As if Abhishek and Ash’s absence wasn’t not bad enough, rumors in the Bollywood Industry have it Amitabh Bachchan will not be there either, but for different reasons. Big B, who together with his son have been IIFA brand ambassadors for years, might stay home due to the demonstrations by Tamil groups in Mumbai that have taken place outside his house to protest that Colombo has been chosen as the venue to hold the event.

This is not the first time the Bachchan Family have chosen to stay away from award events. After the Mumbai Mirror, a leading newspaper agency claimed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan cannot conceive because of her stomach tuberculosis and that the she is trying to hide the truth. Abhishek, Aishwarya and Big B decided to boycott the Filmfare Awards last March.

After learning about the newspaper, they never offered an apology. Instead, they chose to walk out of the ceremony.

Raima Sen says she doesnt like wearing bikinis

Bollywood actress Raima Sen, who has made a name for herself in the Bengali film industry as well as Bollywood with her offbeat roles, says she is ready to don a bikini on the silver screen if she finds the script of the movie fantabulous and demands her to go for it.

“I don’t like to wear a bikini on screen. I thank god that till date I haven’t got such roles where I need to wear a bikini because I don’t think wearing one will add glamour to the role, ” Raima, 30, told in a recent interview.

“But if a script comes to me and if it’s really a very, very good script and the role demands, then it’s okay wearing a bikini, ” said the star of such films as “Chokher Bali” and “Parineeta”.

Raima comes from an illustrious Bengali film family – her grandmother, legendary actress Suchitra Sen, was one of the most sought after in Bengali as well as Hindi movies. And her mother Moon Moon Sen was a yesteryear sex symbol. Her sister Riya too is active in Hindi movies.

Best known in the industry for her innocent and girl-next-door looks, Raima‘s beauty has often been compared to that of her grandmother’s.

“I feel honoured when people compare my looks with those of my grandmother, ” she said.

Raima made her debut in the film industry with a small role in the critically acclaimed Hindi movie “Godmother” in 1999. But her acting skills were overshadowed by the presence of Shabana Azmi who was the main protagonist.

She is open to all kinds of roles and is very keen to feature in period films.

Raima Sen is currently enjoying her new role as a judge on the kid’s dance reality show “Twinkle Twinkle Dancing Stars” on Bengali entertainment channel Mahuaa Bangla, but says her heart lies in acting.

“Yes, I am enjoying my new role as a judge of this dance reality show of kids. It’s a different thing altogether. But I must say one thing – my passion is acting.”

This is the first time Raima Sen is judging a reality show.

Is Aishwarya Rai Pregnant???

Sometimes media over-reacts to certain things happening in and around the filmy world. The recent exaggeration was the Bachchan Bahu episode. I’m sure you might be aware about her pregnancy stories but rumour-mongers never seem to have enough of her.

Grapevine has it that, “Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is now pregnant”. This gossip started off after she was spotted with a baby bump during the promotion of her upcoming release Raavan with her husband Abhishek Bachchan. The news is doing the rounds that the actress, who is known for her perfect figure, has put on lots of weight, especially in the abdomen.

However, the Bachchans have not announced the good news yet. They had earlier blasted a newspaper for falsely reporting that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan couldn’t conceive because of stomach tuberculosis.

Amisha Patel harassed at Kolkata Airport

 Bollywood Actress Amisha Patel‘s jaunt to Kolkata for a professional commitment yesterday morning turned out to be her worst nightmare. Amisha Patel was allegedly mistreated by airport security staff, leaving her indignant. She has now written a formal letter to the head of the security staff at the airport complaining about the same.

An eye  witness who was in the airport early morning said, “Amisha was at the security check around seven in the morning when she had an altercation with a woman at the security check. Amisha was polite but the lady was extremely rude; when Amisha asked for a tray to place her bag in, the lady threw her bag. Amisha told her that the least she could do is smile and be polite. However the lady was in a grumpy mood and gave Amisha a piece of her mind.

Amisha was so annoyed that she went to speak to the head of the security staff. Here she was given an explanation that the lady had been working night shifts and was thus grumpy.

When Amisha requested that the least she could have done was to be polite, she was told that the security staff has an army background and so they are rude.

Amisha Patel insisted that she would complain against the lady who was rude to her and wrote about this incident and gave it to the security guard.”

The eye witness further wrote, “Amisha was seen talking to the officials of the airline which she was traveling with and they also voiced her opinion that the security staff was extremely rude. Amisha though expressed her doubts if the letter would do any good.”

Amisha Patel was later found not interested to comment about the same.

Broken Relationships for Shah Rukh Khan

In Bollywood relationships are meant to be broken not only between actors and actresses but also between directors and actors as well. Not too long ago, Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were very good friends but now Farah Khan is all praise for Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, the lead pair of her upcoming movie, ‘Tees Maar Khan’. But it looks like Farah Khan is not the only person who lost interest in ShahRukh Khan. Karan Johar, another close friend of Shah Rukh Khan is showing a lot of interest in Aamir Khan, the arch rival of Shah Rukh Khan in Bollywood. Apparently Karan Johar invited Aamir Khan at the success party of I Hate Luv Storys at a suburban five star hotel. Aamir Khan, who is known to remain very private about his work, relationship and family, accepted the invitation. In fact, Aamir Khan is the only person outside the film unit who has been invited to the party. Karan Johar personally called Aamir Khan and invited him. Karan and Aamir were hardly acquaintances till very recently. And they have now become close friends. After Karan made his appearances at Aamir’s party for Gustavo and attended the music release of Peepli Live, things are clearer by the minute. Now Karan has invited Aamir to this party. This sparked a rumor that Karan Johar, who has been casting Shah Rukh Khan in all his films till date, is going to work with Aamir Khan. Another rumor is that Karan Johar is doing this to break the ice between him and Aamir Khan so that he could invite him in the next season of his talk show, “Coffee With Karan.” Who knows what is cooking between Karan Johar and Aamir khan but whatever it is, it is definitely not good for Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan.

Ok, now we finally have the much-anticipated full frame DSLR from Canon, expected as the replacement for 5D, it is not 3D nor 7D but 5D Mark II - this time it packed with a higher pixels sensor, this makes all Canon full frame DSLRs at 21MP. Is that a new trend and association set between "Full Frame" and "Higher Pixels"?


Though 5D Mark II comes with a new 21 MP sensor (similar to the sensor in the EOS-1Ds Mark III), DIGIC 4 and 1080p HD movie recording, many people were disappointed for its lacking of professional features, in particular, a more advanced AF system. Yes, 5D Mark II is rather a "conservative" design, that is actually a refinement/ catch-up revision - Canon intended to preserve the unique market segment, style and conventions already built by 5D.


On the other hand, Canon also quickly sent Sony a message - "New player is not welcome" - 5D Mark II just launched about a week after the announcement of the Sony Alpha 900, it has specifications and price tag set direct competition to the Alpha 900. Apparently, 5D Mark II is a well-marketed product, it avoids sitting in the same zone with the strong competitor like Nikon D700, but running into a higher pixels configuration to defense new challenge from the Sony Alpha 900.

Watch Khaleja - Mahesh Babu- Om Namah Siva PROMO

Charming Mahesh Babu and Glamorous Anushka Shetty starrer Khaleja’s melodious audio is releasing on September 27, Monday. Ace (great) music director Mani Sharma has scored the music and Sony music has acquired the music rights of the film.

Confirming the news, Mahesh Babu Tweeted, “Have sum news finally 4 u guys:):) had a word with our producer c kalyan, N from d looks of it the audio will b out on 27th sept:)”.The movie is set to hit the screens on October 7. “The film’s slated for a Oct 7th release”, Prince Tweeted.

Mahesh Babu was last starred in the film Athidhi in 2007. Khaleja will be his first release after two and half years. However, the actor
has signed five films in the series like Dookudu, Samraat, 3 Idiots remake etc.
